Tel: 03-77224928
Fax: 03-77221596

When?
January 3, 2009. Dinner for a family of five.

What?
We ordered 4 'the best fish & chips in town!'
1 Prawns Fettuccini with Chili Cream
1 Fried Calamari

We did not order any beverage since we weren't very thirsty and every main course comes with a complimentary glass of water.

How much?

'the best fish & chips in town!' @ RM9.90
Prawns Fe
ttuccini with Chili Cream @ RM14.90
Fried Calamari @ RM10.90

It cost us a total of RM75.55 inclusive of 10% service charge and 5% government tax.

Starter:

Fried Calamari
The squid was very fresh and succulent . It was deep fried and dressed with fine chopped parsley and goes very well with the lemon juice.
It tastes nice and is a good starter.

Main Course:

'the best fish & chips in town!'
This is a fish & co. classic!
Topped with lemon butter sauce and some parsley, and served with chips.
I must say that the fish was very, very fresh. It was deep fried with batter, not bread crumbs.
The fish was crispy on the outside, enclosing its soft and flaky flesh.
I really liked the texture of the fish!
The fish goes very well with the lemon juice and tartar sauce.

(LOOK, IT'S REALLY FLAKY! YUMMY?)

The chips were topped with pinch of chili powder. However, it was a let-down as it wasn't salty at all.

The sauces. Tartar sauce and Tomato sauce
I personally like their tomato sauce a lot. It certainly is very rich in flavour.

Prawns Fettuccini with Chili Cream
Fettuccine tossed with tiger prawns in homemade chili cream sauce.
The prawns were fresh and the fettuccine were cooked just nice, it was soft and a little starchy.
The chili and the cream blends well together. This dish is spicy and creamy, giving your tongue excitement and a rich creamy taste.

However, the portion were smaller than we expected since the Fish & Chips were in big serving.

Every main course comes with a complimentary glass of water.

Comments:
The service is good. The food are prepared quickly. I must say that they are generous with the food portion too, but in food presentation wise, it isn't that appealing. However, the prices are very reasonable. (DOESN'T DAMAGE YOUR POCKET TOO MUCH!)

Fusion

MFusion is one my favourite eating joint. The Restaurant's signature dish are Curry Fish and Salad Bean curd. As a food lover, we are constantly looking for nice places to have our meals yet Fusion is still one of the few restaurants we constantly come back for more. If you have not been to this place, it is worthwhile to give it a try especially the curry, I bet you would never regret!!!

Where?
Restaurant Fusion Corner
55-57, Jaln SS21/60, Damansara Utama
46300 Selangor, Malaysia.
Tel: 603-7727 3282

When?
December 28, 2008. We brought our friend from Brisbane, Australia to Fusion; there were a total of 9 people.

What?
We ordered a set dinner which consists of:

Curry Fish Fillet
Prawns with Garlic Boiled Egg
Yau Mak Fu Yee
Crab Meat Bean Curd
'Foo Yong' Fried Egg
Lam Yee Fried Chicken
Ice Kacang

The set dinner also includes rice.

How much?
It cost us a total of RM246.20, inclusive of tea.

Curry Fish Fillet (*highly recommended!)
This dish was definitely beyond awesome! It has a nice aromatic smell. The curry had just the right thickness. It was slightly creamy, yet wasn't too thick or oily. The fish fillet was very fresh. It's flesh were very tender and soft, and a little flaky (YUMMY!) There were vegetables such as long beans, okra (lady's finger), brinjals (egg plants) and cabbage. Besides that, 'taufu pok' can also be found in the curry. The curry was cooked to perfection and it wasn't too spicy. It was just the right taste for everyone. It was indeed a great opening dish.

Prawns with Garlic Boiled Egg
This is a very unique dish. Until now, I have only tried it in Fusion. The egg was boiled with garlic, thus giving it a very unique flavour. The prawns were fresh too. We were so engrossed with the food, until,....Oops!! we forgotten to snap a picture. Thousands apologies. ---Lame excuse!
Nevertheless, we really want to recommend this dish to all of you!

Yau Mak Fu Yee
Fu Yee (Fu yu/ Foo yu) is also known as fermented bean curd or preserved bean curd. It also has a nickname-- 'Chinese cheese' because of it's pungent aroma, smooth, creamy texture and also its saltiness. It is usually used in Chinese & Vietnamese cuisine.
Fu Yee goes well with congee, vegetables, and is a great marinating element.

Yau Mak is a version of the Romaine lettuce. The lettuce was fried well with the Fu Yee. The flavour of the Fu Yee was evenly spread throughout the dish.

Crab Meat Bean Curd
The bean curd was really soft. Once bitten, the soy dissolves in the mouth with the crab meat.
The bean curd was simmered well with the gravy.

'Foo Yong' Fried Egg
'Foo Yong' Fried Egg is a typical dish you can find in every Chinese restaurants.
It is nothing really special so we shall not comment on it.

Lam Yee Fried Chicken
Lam Yee (Nam Yee) is alike with Fu Yee (which I had mentioned above), preserved tofu, pickled tofu or fermented tofu.

The chicken meat were marinated with preserved soy bean and then deep fried.
The chicken meat has a crispy outer layer, and has a salty tasting flesh. This dish is best eaten while it's hot!

With the mouth watering curry, one would like to have more rice, as it is very appetizing indeed. The plain white rice becomes extraordinary rice when it is savoured with the curry. You can even eat it without any other dishes!

Ice Kacang
Ice Kacang is a Malay word literally translate as "Ice bean". Ice Kacang is a delicacy which is commonly found in coffee shops, hawker centre, or food stalls in Malaysia or Singapore. Ice Kacang are generally served with colorful cocktail dressings. It is made of shaved ice, red beans, sweet corn, green cendol bits, red jelly bits, grass jelly etc.

Basically, the Ice Kacang here is nothing spectacular. It is simple yet welcoming to the mouth.

Comments:
The food is nice and reasonably priced. This is a good place to bring friends or love ones for a good meal.

December 24, 2008. Dinner with immediate family of 12 people.

What?
We ordered a set dinner which consists of:

Gold Dragon City Two Hot Combination
Shark's Fin Soup with Prawn & Sliced Fish Maw
Roasted Chicken with Thai Sauce
Steamed Grouper Hakka Style
Thousand Island Sauce Prawn
Black Mushroom & Tao Kan with Bailing Mushroom
Fried Rice with Anchovies
Longan with Soya Milk
Crispy Pan Cake

How much?
It cost us a total of RM370.86, including the tidbits, beverages and 5% of service charge.

Gold Dragon City Two Hot Combination

Shark's Fin Soup with Prawn & Sliced Fish Maw

This isn't any ordinary shark's fin soup. The restaurant is generous with the ingredients, the shark's fin soup were served along with prawns and sliced fish maw. However, we need to comment that the fish maw were served in a rather small quantity.

Fish maw is an internal organ that controls the fish' buoyancy, so that it could stay at the current water depth, ascend, or descend without wasting energy. Fish maws are used in the food industry as a source of collagen, to nourish the skin and is beneficial for health.

Roasted Chicken with Thai Sauce
The Roasted Chicken were savored with Thai Sauce, which is sour and spicy.
Cucumbers, onions and pickled mango slices were shredded on the dish.
The roasted chicken was well done and the chicken meat was tender. The Thai sauce savors the chicken, making the dish very appetizing to the mouth.

Steamed Grouper Hakka Style
The fish was served with spring onions and soya sauce.
The Grouper fish was very fresh and the texture of the fish was very soft.

Thousand Island Sauce Prawn
The prawns were served with the shells fully peeled off, this makes it appealing to those who do not intend to dirty their hands while eating. Even my brother who dislikes eating prawns loved it! Anyway, the prawns were fresh and crunchy, it goes well with the thousand island sauce and sesame seeds.

Black Mushroom & Tao Kan with Bai Ling Mushroom

"Bai" means white in Chinese and "Ling" refers to Lanzi, a valuable edible fungus.
Bai-Ling Mushroom is low in fat, rich in protein, vitamin, carbohydrate, fungal polysaccharide and coarse fiber.

This dish is my dad's favourite as it is plain and not oily, yet appetizing, especially after eating few dishes of ''meaty'' food. The dish was also served along with steamed broccoli. It is quite refreshing while clearing your taste buds to prepare for the closing dish which is fried rice.

Fried Rice with Anchovies
The rice was very soft, starchy and a little wet, unlike other restaurants' fried rice which are usually dry.
The baby anchovies were very crunchy and goes very well with the fried rice.

DESSERTS:

Longan with Soya Milk

Crispy Pan Cake

All in all, the desserts weren't anything special.

Comments:
I will rate this place a worthwhile place to go for a decent Chinese Set Dinner at a reasonable price. The serving is quite reasonably in size; even though the set dinner was prepared for ten, all of us had enough to fill up our stomach. This is surely a good place to visit if you have tight budgets and would like to have a reasonable and decent dinner.

Sukico Hainan Cafe

We have decided to visit this restaurant after reading it from a blog. The restaurant is a bit crowded in term of space with shelves on both sides of the restaurant displaying baking ingredients. The setting of the restaurant and environment inside look rather simple and ordinary but I must say that the place is very clean. The restaurant serves both Chinese's Hainanese food and Western food. The food is really nice and unique especially the "Chicken Gordon Bleu". However, the service is a little slow. One need to be patient to enjoy good food.

We have the privilege to strike a conversation with the owner of the restaurant, Mr. H. H. Tan, nicknamed "cowboy". He surely is a very humble, down-to-earth and friendly gentlemen having a lot of passion for his work. He takes pride that all his food in the restaurant is done without any preservative.

Where?

Sukico Hainan Cafe
59G, Jalan SS21/60 Damansara Utama, 47400 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Mr. H. H. Tan, nicknamed "cowboy", the owner of Sukico Hainan Cafe

When?

December 6, 2008. Dinner for a family of 5

What?
We ordered 2 Grilled Fish Fillet,
3 Chicken Gordon Bleu,
2 Lemon Tea
1 Lime + Asam drink,
1 Lime Juice,
1 Chrysanthemum drink.

How much?
Grilled Fish Fillet @ RM11.80
Chicken Gordon Bleu @ RM14.80

The whole meal cost us RM79.80

Lemon Tea

Lime + Asam drink

Lime juice

Chrysanthemum drink

Grilled Fish Fillet
This dish is served along with french fries, mixed vegetables, a piece of lemon and some tartar sauce.
The batter was well done. It wasn't thick, it was a little flaky and crunchy.
Upon cutting the fish fillet, one can feel the tenderness of the fish meat. The fish meat was fresh and surprisingly, very soft.

The restaurant weren't stingy with the lemon. They gave us a quarter of a lemon.
One can get a better taste of the grilled fish by squeezing the lemon on top of it. The lemon juice enhances the flavour of the dish.

Chicken Gordon Bleu
The chicken is stuffed with cheese and turkey ham, served with french fries and mixed vegetables. The dish also comes with a special sauce that is specially prepared by the chefs themselves. You can't get it elsewhere!

Inside the chicken,

A closer look! Wow, yummy!

You can see slices of turkey ham stuffed inside the chicken, with melted cheese oozing out of the chicken.
This is a very unique way of making Chicken Gordon Bleu in Malaysia.
Upon serving, one can see the steam coming out from the dish and when eaten while it's hot, the chicken meat is very tender.
The chicken goes very well with the turkey ham and cheese. When the hot special sauce is poured over the Chicken Gordon Bleu, it enriches the taste of the dish. It was fabulous!

This dish takes some time to be prepared as the chef rolls the cheese and turkey ham with their bare hands.

Did you notice that all the dishes weren't served along with coleslaw or salad but mixed vegetables?
That makes their dishes unique. It is a like a cross-over of oriental and western food.

The mixed vegetables comes in a very small portion of carrots, button mushrooms and radish.

Comments: We enjoyed our meal here. The food were great and the prices were reasonable. We would like to come back again some time! (Maybe Christmas Eve? ). After having a chat with Mr. Tan, we found him extremely strict with his cafe's cleanliness and he always puts his customers' health as his first concern.

P.S: Sukico Hainan Cafe will be having a Christmas Eve set dinner on the 24th Dec 2008 at 7.30PM at the price of RM29.00 per person.

For more information, contact Mr H.H Tan at 03 – 77288381 or 012-2777138.

Dome is located inside the One Utama Shopping complex. It is a nice place to go for lunch, tea or dinner especially if you are having shopping as part of your agenda. The food is nice and reasonable in price. If you ask me if I would go back again, the answer is a definately a big "YES".

November 29 2008. Dinner for a family of five.

What?
We ordered 1 Fish & Chips
1 Club Sandwich
1 Spicy Olio-Chicken with Linguini
1 Lamb Stew with Cashew Nuts
1 Chicken Penne
We also ordered 5 glasses of water which was complementary.

How much?
Fish & Chips @ RM24.50
Club Sandwich @ RM21.00
Spicy Olio-Chicken with Linguini @ RM21.00
Lamb Stew with Cashew Nuts @ RM23.00
Chicken Penne @ RM21.50

The whole meal inclusive of service charge and government tax cost us RM127.65 .

Chicken Penne
This dish is served with chicken meat, mushrooms, snow peas and pennes.
The sauce is rich with the taste alike to Carbonara and was appetizing to the mouth.
The pasta was cooked to perfection, it wasn't too soft yet it was tangy.
The serving was slightly small, however it was filling to the stomach.

Club Sandwich
The Club Sandwich has sliced chicken meat marinated with pesto sauce, chicken ham, lettuce and tomatoes sandwiched in between.
It was really delicious, thanks to the chicken meat! After marinated with pesto sauce, it really tastes great and was very tantalizing to the mouth

Fish & Chips
For the first time, I actually loved salad a lot. Their salad is one of a kind, it isn't more to the sweet tooth but the sour tooth and I definitely give it two thumb-ups!
As for the fish fillet, it was great also! They did a great job with the batter, the fish was crusty and crispy. The fish meat was also very fresh and it has a very soft texture!
I would say this plate of Fish & Chips is near to perfection.

Spicy Olio-Chicken with Linguini
The Linguini was served along with chicken ham and many variety of vegetables. the chilly flakes makes it spicy and this is a no no dish for those who cannot stomach spicy food. Overall the dish is okay.

Lamb Stew with Cashew Nuts
The meat is tender and soft. The sauce on the lamb goes very well with the rice. With the steamed broccoli it maked it a perfect dish.

Comments:
The food is nice and reasonable in price. The service was also good. Dome Cafe is recommendable for those who are looking for light meals.
